Past the Peak

Just after Halloween, I had the opportunity to go to Skyline Drive for the first time. I was very excited because I thought it would be a great time to see the trees at the peak of their fall color change. I found out when I got there that the trees at the high elevation of Skyline had already passed their peak, and the leaf colors were really quite dull (as you can see below). So, instead of taking pictures of trees with beautiful leaves, I ended up liking some interesting trees with no leaves at all. Funny how that works...

I love trees with no leaves, you can see the character of tree. Guess that may be kind of an artsy thing or maybe left over from my hippie days? The pictures are wonderful and very artsy..... mouse
