2015 in a Nutshell Part 2

I've been experiencing some issues with my blog lately, and in this case, it only published half of the first post, so I'm continuing with Part 2 here.  *See the previous post first.

We were able to fit a lot in August, thankfully.  With Nina still in her cast, we took another family trip to Hartfield for kayaking, fishing, relaxing, and a trip to Busch Gardens again.

Magnolia joined the family, and Cayenne got a cousin (actually, Maggie would be Cayenne’s aunt technically, but who’s counting).  The two became fast friends and are great playmates.

Nina got her cast off in the middle of August, and my mom and I took the girls to Virginia Beach and Hartfield for a couple days to celebrate the cast coming off and get in a fun trip before school started.  I was so surprised how much Nina’s ankle was able to tolerate while we were at the beach.  She never wanted to come out of the waves.  We thanked the Lord for complete healing!!

On September 1st, school started and we had a 4th and a 2nd grader!!

October brought us another memorable Halloween party at Mousey and Poppy’s house, and, of course, a fun Halloween night in our neighborhood.

Lyla also competed in the fall soccer season with Mark still her coach, and surprisingly, Nina was able to get back into tumbling.  We weren’t sure how that was going to go after the broken ankle, but she’s doing it!

In November we celebrated Poppy’s 70th birthday.  It was quite the event, and a very fun evening, however the only downside was that Nina got the stomach bug the day of the party and wasn’t able to participate in the evening.  Other than that, everything was great!

We also enjoyed a great family Thanksgiving at Hartfield.

With December half-way through and Christmas right around the corner, we remember the reason for all the celebration this holiday.  We celebrate the birth of Jesus, and that he chose to come to this world as a baby and then ultimately die on the cross because he loves everyone one of us so much.  So, I'm thankful for this Christmas, and thankful for my family, our friends, health, and another year of memories!

  1. Love all the pictures (even though I complain about getting them taken!), so much to be thankful for.
