There are only two more days left in my campaign to Tread on Trafficking. Even though the campaign technically ends at the end of the day tomorrow, my resolve to be a part of bringing sex slavery and human trafficking to an end is only gaining momentum. I told Mark this morning that I first started hearing the stories of enslaved women and girls almost four years ago, but as I was reading yet another shocking story in my latest read, Half the Sky, I continue to be filled with anger and disbelief that "this stuff" is happening all over the world to our collective children and young women. I said to him again that I thank God I wasn't born in a country where the law enforcement and powers-that-be simply turn a blind eye to my situation as my young daughters are kidnapped from my home to be sold into an always brutal and often death-sentence life of sex slavery. So, even though this campaign is ending, this won't be an end to my posting about the issue or talking about the issue with those who are interested. And, as always, if anyone who reads this blog wants to learn more about the issue, email me and I'd love to share some resources with you.
Thanks so much to those friends and family who have partnered with me in this campaign by donating their money to Love 146 in the past two months. I am so thankful to have people in my life who share this passion that I have, or even who don't share the passion that I have but support it nonetheless by supporting my efforts in this campaign. I really am thankful for your involvement in helping do what you can to be a part of justice for these women and children.
