Sunny Days

We were treated to a beautiful, warm, sunny day today. Days like today are a good reminder of how lucky we are. We live a great country, in a wonderful community, I get to enjoy watching these two grow and change every day, and we get to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. That's so much more than what a lot of people around the world can say, so I'm easily reminded to be very thankful for days like today.
Throughout the week we save us all the edges cut off sandwiches, stale bread, or the heels at the end of bread loaves, then we take it over to the pond and feed the turtles. The past few times we've gone over, the little catfish in the pond have been the ones eating all the bread, but today when we got there and started throwing bread in the water, turtles came swimming over from all directions. At one point we counted over twenty turtles waiting for pieces of bread. It's a good thing we had a full bag to feed them with!
After feeding the turtles, we kept on walking through the neighborhood, and I wasn't planning to do a photo session by the waterfall, but the girls just started out sitting happily on the rocks, so we gave it a try.
Nina gave a little help getting Lyla to actually look at the camera (kind of).
Lyla wanted nothing to do with getting her picture taken, but Nina was a very willing participant today. I'm not sure why, but she actually seemed to want to get her picture taken, so I was happy to oblige.
