Hartfield for the 4th

Less than a week after we returned from the beach, we hit the road for a long weekend at Hartfield to hang with the fam and celebrate the 4th.  We had beautiful weather for fishing, boating, tubing, and watching a great fireworks show from the water.  As always, it was so fun to hang together down at Hartfield and enjoy some fun times on the water.
The first moring we were there, Mark hit the jackpot fishing off the dock.  He caught so many more fish there than he had before, and the girls and the pup got into it also!

Nina and I did some paddle boarding and she found a cute little turtle too.

When the Williams got there a few hours later, we got ready to head out on the boat.
As always, Uncle G gives the girls great tubing rides which is always a highlight of their time there.

After tubing, we picked up the Mouse and headed off to find a place to swim and just hang in the water.

The girls always have so much fun when we find a place with no jellyfish were they can just swim, play, and have fun!

We had a beautiful evening on the 4th to watch fireworks from G’s boat.  There was a great display going on all around us.  It really was awesome!

July 4th was also Cayenne’s 8th birthday.  We always celebrate with chicken jerky pancakes on her birthday morning, but we were a little low on pancake mix at Hartfield, so we saved that for home, but she got some nice walks, swims, and enjoyed plenty of attention.

Sadly, as much as she loves being with us and going to different places, she gets so stressed in the car.  :(  We’ve tried a lot to make it better for her, but in the end, I think she just can’t wait for the car ride to be over.  On the upside, she did get a full plate of pancakes when we got home, so the car ride was soon forgotten!
