Halloween was this past Monday, and it was a gorgeous evening for trick or treating. The weather was great, and the girls both settled on “spooky” costumes this year. We started getting ready early to paint faces, and as soon as the clock clicked 6:00, the doorbell started ringing with trick or treaters.
Nina got these vampire teeth from a neighbor’s house and put them in right before our picture, but thankfully that wasn’t a part of her “look” for the rest of the evening!
They met up with some of their friends in the neighborhood and set out as a group for trick-or-treating.
One street in our section of the neighborhood is always done up really scarily each Halloween. They invite people to go through their haunted house, there are tons of scary decorations, a large screen displaying images, and made up characters circling around the street. The girls have never had the courage to go inside the haunted house, but they did this year with their friends. They also made nice with one of the scary clowns that was circling around the street and got their picture with him.
As always, most of the neighborhood goes out strong from 6:00-8:00 then things really taper off after that (esp. on a weeknight), so after two hours of racing house to house and collecting tons of candy and having a great time, they parted ways with their friends and called it a night. It definitely was a fun Halloween!
