It’s hard to believe we’re already celebrating Easter! March has been a very busy month with birthdays and spring break, but today we got to celebrate one of my favorite holidays! We went to church this morning then I stopped the girls for a few pictures before we changed and headed out to my parents’ house for lunch and the annual egg hunt.
We keep having to make the egg hunt more challenging each year, and it takes some real effort to hide them in places that challenge the four older girls, but they love it and take it quite seriously!
Even the pups got in on the fun this year. We hid a few eggs with dog treats in them and Cayenne and Maggie had to sniff out the eggs.
I have to admit, they did a good job. They certainly didn’t restrict themselves from still trying to steal the good stuff out of the girls’ baskets, but they did have fun searching for their eggs.
I’d say everyone was happy with what they got, and the candy definitely fueled some shenanigans!
Then my mom came up with what is bound to be a tradition after this year. The game is…is it hard boiled or not??? The only way to find out is to crack it on your forehead. Nina was the only one that got a hard boiled.
The award for the most spectacular egg smash goes to Uncle Bo who was pulled into the game by his nieces who were all chanting for him to participate. Thankfully he’s a good sport and a very fun uncle who will do anything for his nieces!
It was a fabulous day, I feel very blessed to have such an amazing family
