Magnolia

Yesterday we got to meet sweet little Magnolia – the newest addition to the family.  Mousey and Poppy picked her up on Saturday, and we went out to their house to visit her yesterday evening.  Magnolia will be their third Brittany Spaniel.  They’ve had one really good Brittany, one real rascal of a Brittany, and we’re anxious to see what little Magnolia is going to turn out like.  Hopefully somewhere in the middle!

When Nina broke her ankle and Lyla went with the family down to Hartfield, Mousey and Poppy took the girls over to the breeder to see the pups, so Lyla had met Magnolia before.  Nina, however, was dying to meet her.  Magnolia is so tiny and sweet.  There’s nothing cuter than a puppy!

 

Both girls were absolutely enthralled with Magnolia – much to the dismay of another pup that came to visit.

 

 

We think, in time, Cayenne and Magnolia will be great buddies.  They will hopefully love to run, play, and chase together, but for right now, Cayenne was a little much for Magnolia.  She certainly didn’t put her best paw forward last night.  She was a little high on the energy and a little extra rowdy – definitely a little much for a new puppy.  Once Magnolia gets some size on her, I think she’ll be a lot less intimated by the speedy, sharky, pesty Vizsla.  One can hope!

So while Cayenne put on a show of racing around the yard, throwing herself the tennis ball, etc., little Magnolia either hid under the table where we were eating outside or sat safely in someone’s lap.  Never the one to be ignored, Cayenne also tried to climb into Bo’s lap to be held because he was sitting next to my mom who had Magnolia in her lap.  Sigh… Someone has to learn that she’s no longer the only baby dog in the family!

  

All the activity really wore out little Magnolia!  However, she seems to be such a sweet and loving little puppy with a desire to please.  Now that I’ve written that, I’ve probably jinxed my parents, but so far so good with this new addition to the family!
