With August being unseasonably comfortable (for weather in Northern Virginia), we’ve tried to make the most of some exploring/hiking opportunities. Last weekend we spent the afternoon at Red Rocks. We did some hiking, Mark did some fishing, and Nina and Lyla enjoyed exploring along the river.
This week we went to Burke Lake to do some more hiking around and exploring. After hiking around the lake for awhile, we found a good picnic spot for dinner, and enjoyed the sights. It’s hard to believe the summer is already winding down. We’ve really enjoyed the free time that summer days bring. It’s going to be a big adjustment for all of us when the structure of school days start in just over a week!
