Family Fun

Nina and I visited Haymarket again where we got to hang with Auntie Shen, Emme, and the grandparents. We also had fun showing off the very cool visors made by the girls' Colorado cousins, Mia and Faith. Mia and Faith made these for Emme and Nina while having a 10-day "camp" with their grandparents, Cheryl and Jim. Great job on the visors, Mia and Faith!

Rolling Over is Hard Work

Nina was practicing her rolling over when she decided she needed to stop and take a little cat nap. This is how she fell asleep. Evidentally, rolling over is very hard work.

11 Weeks Old

Nina turned 11 weeks old on Tuesday, August 8.

More Cousin Fun

While Mark and I were in Chicago (thanks grandparents for the weekend away!), Nina and Emme had cousin fun. Emme was nice enough to play with Nina and then ends up getting her hair pulled - hopefully not a sign of future interactions. Emme is still much more of an artist than Nina at this point, so Nina will have some catching up to do in that area!

Love Daddy

Since Mark is going to be on the road a lot in the next two weeks, Nina and I took these pictures for him to take with him. Based on the smiles and coos Nina gives Mark, she definitely loves her daddy.

Playing

Nina turned 8 weeks old yesterday and is starting to like playing with her toys some. Her attention span for one thing isn't very long, and it seems that she only likes playing if her Mom or Dad are sitting right next to her at the same time. Did we mention that someone likes attention?

Tough Life

It's a really tough life being a baby. Some days are just exhausting!

Love Mommy and Daddy

This onesie was made at Nina's baby shower by my friend, Kristen. We want to wish Kristen good luck in Africa - she's leaving for the Peace Corp next week.

Seven Weeks Old

It seems that we have the most high maintenance baby on the block, but she's happy now, so we're happy too. It's taken us almost seven weeks to figure her out, but if she gets the most expensive formula on the market, mixed with bottled water, given in conjunction with a new reflux medicine, she's a totally normal, mostly happy baby. Any deviation from that plan produces an unhappy Nina, so we're content to do what needs to be done to keep her happy and relaxed (as she obviously is in these pictures).

A Visit to Hartfield

Mark and I enjoyed a few free days at my parent's river house in Hartfield. Nina enjoyed spending some time with her dad before he took off on a road trip. She also brought out her "I'm Crabby" onesie (made by friends Jessica and Cassie) on the 4th of July since we were catching crabs that day.

Two Babies

This picture was taken awhile ago by my sister, but I just got a copy of it. Nina and I were visiting with Shenley and Emme, and Emme wanted to be a baby like Nina. Shenley got her car seat out of the basement, and Emme and Nina were babies together. Obviously, one "baby" is no longer a baby.

Big Girl

Just because she turned one month old today, she decided that she needed to try holding her own bottle.

One Month Old

Nina turned one month old today. She has been growing a lot and getting more personality as the days go by. Unfortunately, she's quite unhappy with some reflux issues, but we're doing all we can to try to try to help her be more comfortable. In the meantime, we have a lot of fussy nights and evenings, but we've survived the first month with a newborn, so that's good news for us!

Nina Goes to School

Nina went to middle school today! She and I visited my work, Kilmer Middle, so say goodbye to the kids and staff on the last day of school. Here is a picture of us with some of the kids.

Mark's First Father's Day

Mark arrived home from New England to spend his first Father's Day with Nina.

A Visit to Haymarket

Nina certainly has her challenging times, but we try to take photos when she's actually relaxed! Visiting Haymarket and having the experience of grandparents around always helps!

Two Weeks Old

Nina turned two weeks old on Tuesday, June 6. She has grown a lot in the past two weeks and is now up to 7lb. 6oz. and is 19.5 in. long. She also enjoys keeping her parents up at night! We love that!

A Visit from Cousin Emme

Last night we enjoyed a visit from Nina's cousin, Emme. Emme was very excited to meet "baby Mina." Eventually, we'll get her to call her Nina instead of Mina, but Emme is very cute with her new cousin.
