A Great Visit to Great Grandparents

Shenley, Emme, Nina, and I went to visit the girls' great grandparents, PB and Grandma Bette, yesterday in Maryland. We got to stay and enjoy lunch, a picture slide show, a post-Christmas birthday party for Jesus, and some piano playing by PB and Emme. It was a great visit!

Fun New Game

Nina and Mark have started a new game together that Nina loves. She gets ready to try standing on her own, then Mark lets go and they see how long she can stand on her own. She gets very excited and falls quickly, but it looks like that is part of the fun also.

Piano Player

Nina has really enjoyed playing the little piano that Grandma and Grandpa Maynard got her for Christmas. We think she kind of looks like Linus when she plays with it...very cute!

7 Months Old

Nina turned 7 months old yesterday. She really likes books, saying "da da" (much to her father's delight), bouncing in her Hop 'N Pop, and holding onto anything and everything to stand up. She loves her blanket, has a happy personality, and drools like a little St. Bernard!

Bath Time

Nina really likes her bath time. She seems to enjoy the water and has discovered the fun of spashing and kicking her legs in the water. And for those of you thinking that you just missed seeing something, Mark is wearing shorts...haa haa!

Supposed to be Napping...

When Nina is supposed to be napping or when she wakes up from a nap, we often hear the little one-sided "conversation" she has with her monkey wall painting. She likes to say sideways in her crib and prop her feet up on the bumper so she can stare up at the monkey and talk to it.

Noisy Nina

Nina has discovered the fun of clanking things together. One of her new favorite things is to clank toys together or use one toy to hit another hard object that makes a noise. Speaking of noisy, her baby talk volume has gone up considerably! When doing some Christmas shopping this past week, we've attracted a bit of attention with all the loud "talking" she's doing.

Cute Cousins

After visiting Santa, we had Emme and Nina take some pictures together. They are quite entertained by each other, and we happen to think they make a pretty cute pair!

A Visit to Santa

Nina surprised us and actually enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap. We thought she might be a little scared, but thankfully, we had a very friendly Santa whose beard she really liked!

When All Else Fails...

...and Nina is tired and cranky in the evenings (yet it's too early for bed time), this is her new favorite activity. She loves being drug around the room in her blanket. She used to hold on to the sides of the blanket and keep her feet inside. Now, she just lays back and doesn't hold on, and leaves a foot, or both, hanging off the sides.

Christmas Tree

On Sunday, we went to the tree farm to find and cut down our Christmas tree this year. After much searching, we settled on the tree we wanted, Mark cut is down, and we got all of our ornaments on. Nina already likes looking at the tree when it's lit up, and yes, she was having a very bad hair day that evening!

Nursery Friends

Nina has really started to love the animals in her nursery. The most recent addition to the safari crew is the lion who is a huge hit.

Funny Face

Nina gave me this face after I finished giving her the Nebulizer treatment for her chest congestion. I don't think she appreciated it very much!
