Road Trip!
Nina and I took our first real road trip this week to Virginia Tech to visit Uncle Bo. After a six hour car ride (due to an accident on 81), we arrived to have a late dinner with Bo and his girlfriend, Lauren. The next day Bo took us to lunch on campus which was Nina's first visit to college - just getting a little preview of what's to come. We hung out at Uncle Bo's then braved the cold weather for the soccer game Friday night. We loved spending some time with Uncle Bo, and the road trip was a definite success.

A Visit From Nana and PaPaw
Nina got her first visit from Nana and PaPaw which was very exciting, but we adults left her behind on Friday night to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the 1996 DC United championship team. It was a great opportunity for Mark to catch up with some of his old teammates, and we followed that up with more festivities and celebrating of the team along with a DC United win on Saturday night.

A Trip to the Zoo
Today, Shenley and I took Nina and Emme to the National Zoo. The girls had a great time, and we got to see lots of very neat animals. The highlights were seeing Tai Shan, the zoo's growing baby panda, seeing the new tiger cubs, and getting pretty close to a very big elephant and hippo. By the end of the zoo trip, all four girls were exhausted!

Another Fun Weekend
Thanks again to Mousey and Poppy who watched Nina (and also to Garland's parents who watched Emme) so Shenley, Garland, Mark, and I could spend the weekend in Baltimore while Mark was part of the Celebrity Golf Tour at Mountain Branch Golf Course. We had a great weekend of fun (parties, reggae band, Orioles/Yankees game, DC United game), but here are some pictures of the serious stuff. Mark was teamed with former Redskin, Joe Washington, and Garland served as companion/shot advisor/comic relief for Mark. We were very happy to see Nina when we got back.
